Whilst separating out old roses from the newly ones to go into the wild compost in the garden, I met this delightful acquaintance.
Observing
A bug origin acquaintance, a shield bug.
Relaxing
I leave him/her to it with fresh water, two roses and it’s leafs left to live upon for the while on a desk table in my bedroom, in front of six large curved windows.

Nice shot
I wonder what kind of bug that is?

Thanks Klaus.
It’s a shield bug. I checked in my Insect Encyclopedia.
Oh I thought “shield bug” was just a generic term for that kind of bug – but then I learned something new today.

Klaus,
I wasn’t sure which shield bug he/she looked like, and the closest looking one in the book is called the ‘Green shield bug’ turning brown in Autumn, which is a lot like what this one looks like. I just left it as ‘shield bug’ as all of them seem to have the same physical characteristics.
What type of micro lens have you used, Ana?
That’s amazing presence of mind. I appreciate that a lot.

Hey Chris Peterson,
Good to see you here.
I use my mobile phone camera for all the pictures. The lens is a cybershot auto focus 3.2 mega pixels. Hope that has answered the question, if not feel free to expand.
I am happy that you enjoyed this moment.
Beautiful shot of that yellow rose, and we have that bug here too, but I don’t know the name either..

Happy you like this image, Icy BC.
I feel it is definetly a shield bug of the sort as transcribed by the Insect Encylopedia.
