I love homemade crafts, and like it even better when I buy something creative by someone who produced that very delicacy. I have been interested in a weekly calendar diary for a while, and my interest drew towards handmade diaries at Etsy, especially of the leather variety. I managed to find a beautiful black leather weekly Planner, starting in September 2009 and lasting till the following September 2010 created by Rhonda Miller at MyHandboundBooks. Aside from being beautiful it also looked practical, a planner that I would very much appreciate. I ordered it on the 26th August 2009, and received it on the 1st week of September.
A pleased and happy face made way for the following package.

Planner with a free book Pendant surprise, by Rhonda Miller
Beside the Planner, a free mini leather journal pendant was included which I thought a nice touch showing the nature and passion of the Artist for her work. My appreciation for the Artist couldn’t have come at a better time, as Rhonda included an invitation to visit her site in Etsy and her blog. Alongside this, was a scratcher surprise that revealed a discount on my next purchase with this Artist. A nice touch. I pacefully visited Rhonda Miller’s blog intrigued in her valued crafts and left a few messages of appreciation for her work. I have bought a couple things off etsy, so great to support burgeoning artisans.
I can smell that leather book, you know? It’s one of my all-time favorite, if not my top favorite smell.

That is wonderful! A beautiful book. I enjoy going to artist’s markets. I am usually drawn to pottery. I have a couple of things made by local potters. I recently purchased an item online from two woman who have a business making cloth napkins. When I received them, there was a hand written card in the box thanking me for my purchase. It is such a nice personal touch in a world of mass production.
Thanks for sharing!
looking very nice and historical.
One of the greatest things in visiting blogs is I get to know someone a lot more than the comments they left. I’m fascinated by your art sense, Ana. The planner is indeed lovely, personally I’m in love with creativity and appreciate the artworks of others, whether they come in crafts, drawings, sketches, writings, poetry, music.. it’s a gift and blessing. Love the ‘new beginning’ drawing, reminding myself everyday is a new start.
Feeling refreshed and encouraged by this site. Keep up the good work, Ana.

Those planners look great! If I only had the patience to use something like that. I’m too lazy and just use my iphone for planning

Hey Jannie Funster,
Good to see you again.
It’s wonderful that there is such sites, where people can share their Artwork with others. It is wonderful that people can also make a living out of it, doing what they love.
Heehee how is it smelling over there?
Hey JLC,
Nice to see you.
It is so precious to be interested in human craftsmanship isn’t it, and when the Artists leave their mark becomes ever more special.
I’m glad that you enjoy visiting Artists markets. Always a delight.
Hello Faheem,
Good to see you, dropping by.
It does definetly have a certain antiqueness about it, doesn’t it.
Hello Ching Ya,

It is wonderful to see you here.
Thank you for following me back.
I am the same, that is why I like to engage and share in everything that is creatively made.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I am glad that you enjoyed this visit and my painting.
You are welcome anytime.
Hey Ben,
It’s good to see you here.
Don’t you find the iphone just as creative?
That looks lovely. I didn’t know you can have these made-to-order and have it start with September. Wow.
And that mini-leather pendant is a very sweet and touching gesture from the artist. I can see that you’re a fan. Will have to check out her site, too.

Beautiful! It’s wonderful to support creative artists and artisans out there… for something like a journal or planner, it’s so much more personal as well
